Vacation Post 02

I’m back now, but this post is about the vacation, so what the heck.

Saturday and Tuesday night I went to North Beach in Dewey. Saturday it was comfortable; my friends remarked it was the least crowded bar in Dewey. It may have been, but still looked happening. On Tuesday, it was a wild place. Tuesday is $1 night. Captain, domestic beers and Dewey Devils (their signature frozen drink) are a mere buck. Inside was a dance floor. The best spots to be were on the sand next to the bay, or near the front by the outside bar.

Wednesday I met a friend at Liquid Assets in Ocean City. It’s too bad that with our liquor laws, we could never have something like this. Liquid Assets is a beer and liquor store with a nice bar and fancy menu right in the middle of it.

Monday has historically been the night to hit Obie’s By the Sea in Rehoboth. This year, some minor changes had been made. The past two years, Obie’s featured Corona specials and DJ after 9 p.m. Usually a beer rep would come by with giveaways.

This year, the entertainment changed to an acoustic guitarist, and I drank $2.50 Bud Select drafts (Is that really a special?). Still a good time, just slightly lower key than previous times. This is where I ran into old friends from my time there seven years ago.

We also dropped into the Summer House on Monday, even though their hot night was and still is Tuesday. It used to be Summer House, then across the street to Sir Guys, but Sir Guys is no longer there. A restaurant has taken its place, but I can’t find any information on it.
