If you haven’t yet heard, the B. Dalton bookstore at Strawberry Square is closing, and everything in the store is 50 percent off.
This caused huge lines Friday afternoon, and Saturday was busy, but not insane (at least when I was there in the morning).
I expect everything will drop to 75 percent off before the store is closed, so stock up on your cookbooks, calendars, reference books and magazines – I did.
Store employees told me that Hallmark rented the space to expand their store … to sell gifts and books.
Speaking of Hallmark, this weekend is their annual Holiday Open House. I went to the Strawberry Patch yesterday after my B. Dalton experience and sampled peppermint bark, popcorn and homemade sand tarts (baked each year by one of the store’s employees).
I stocked up on my wrapping paper and holiday cards for the year, plus picked up that cute stuffed reindeer, Rodney, as a treat for my sister.
After, I hit up my favorite mall treat – an Auntie Anne’s pretzel and lemonade.
