It seems that Friday was National Popcorn Day. If you know me at all, you likely know I love no snack more than popcorn. Unless you consider steak or spaghetti a snack, which is unlikely. Regardless, I love popcorn in nearly all its forms. I like movie theater popcorn, white cheddar popcorn, ballgame or circus popcorn, microwave popcorn. I like it buttery, salty and sometimes cheesy or lightly flavored. I don’t even really mind when it’s a little burnt.
I do have my favorites, however. PopSecret Homestyle is my number one choice for microwave popcorn – unless I feel like spoiling myself with loads of butter flavoring, and then it’s anything that boasts the best, even Blast O Butter. But fear not, I do not regularly inhale the popcorn steam.
My favorite way to make popcorn, however, is in the air popper. Both of my recent roommates probably think I’m crazy with the frequency with which I’m popping corn, melting a little butter and then delicately blending the two, plus salt – and my used-to-be-secret secret ingredient, garlic salt.
