The New York Times Book Review today featured local author Wendy Moffat's biography of British novelist E.M. Forster, A Great Unrecorded History, calling the work a, “well-written, intelligent and perceptive biography of Forster.”
Moffat, a professor of English at Dickinson College in Carlisle, began her research in 1997 about the author of Howard’s End and A Passage to India after coming upon unpublished material of his at Cambridge University. In her biography, she looks into Forster’s sexual orientation—and its influence on his personal and professional lives.
