If you’re of the 21-and-older set and looking to boost your party downtown this year, the Hilton Harrisburg is hosting a new kind of New Year’s Eve party. The hotel’s transforming a ballroom into a chic lounge for the night with a variety of packages available. For all intents and purposes, this is this year’s “it” place to ring in 2012.

The night begins with a VIP reception featuring hors d’oeuvres, wine and jazz from 8 to 10 p.m.

At 10, the “A&M” (Absolut & Mumm’s) Nightclub opens, with DJ Jason Forest, dancing, hors d’oeuvres and countdown coverage on a projection screen. Guests who attend the VIP reception score reserved lounge seating and bottle service. A full cash bar featuring Absolut cocktails and Mumm sparkling wine will be available as well.

Play it safe and spend the night with discounted overnight packages, too.

The VIP reception and nightclub entry ($100) is sold out but accepting additions to its waiting list online. VIP ticket holders can stay overnight for $99.

Admission to the “A&M” Nightclub is $45. Overnight rooms are available for $139 for general admission guests.
