Harrisburg is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day twice this year, with parade day on Saturday, a week after the holiday.
The Harrisburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 2 p.m. Saturday and marches through downtown Harrisburg with Irish dancers, bagpipers, local marching bands and more.
If you dont have children and are enjoying the parade for its revelry, then the hot spot for parade activity is the Brick Haus, “home of the Bleacher Creatures.” For years, the Brick Haus has hosted prime seating for the parade by putting bleachers outside the bar, hopefully in sunshine, and throwing a party.
It will be open at 11 a.m. to allow for ample “warming up,” if necessary. One could choose to do so with green aluminum bottles of Bud Light or Miller Lite, both of which will be sold all day.
“Bleacher Creature” seats fill up fast, so be sure to get there early.
