Help your community this month by supporting Harrisburg Young Professionals’ city revitalization efforts.
HYP is seeking community support to raise funds to beautify the median on State Street between Front and Third Sts. in downtown Harrisburg.
The State Street Beautification Project aims to update the street median with native, low maintenance, robust and aesthetically pleasing plants that will improve the city’s appearance and enhance the vista from the west Capitol steps to the Riverfront Park.
HYP hopes to raise $40,000 by Sept. 30 to fund the project via public and private supporters. Approximately $11,000 has already been committed.
City revitalization has long been a focus of HYP, and the group and its partners have led maintenance projects throughout the city, including the Forster Street median, Midtown and Uptown neighborhood clean-ups, and repair and clean-up in the Sunken Gardens following flood damage in 2011.
To help: You can pledge funds online or mail a check payable to Harrisburg Young Professionals, P.O. Box 11851, Harrisburg, Pa. 17108-1851. All donations to HYP are tax-deductible.
