The busiest day of the year was April 18 when 1,295 of you read my story on the lovely and fabulous ladies who opened STASH: Harrisburg’s newest vintage shop.
We partnered with local businesses for 62 giveaways in 2013 — the most coveted was a gift card to Mangia Qui & Suba. Just wait until the new year when we can give away a gift card to Rubicon!

Thanks to Artie at ABC, I (co)brewed my first beer, the Bozich Black IPA, which was released in March.
Took a long winter weekend trip to Rehoboth/Fenwick Island, DE., where we visited Dogfish Head, had dinner at Cultured Pearl and enjoyed a snowy beachscape.
With the help of partners Jay Bowser and Josiah Ferris (now RunPositive), we put on our first 5K race — a memorial tribute to our friend Jersey Mike. Note: The 2nd annual Jersey Mike Memorial Rock + Run 5K is scheduled for April 12, 2014.
In late April, I began a weekly radio gig with Glenn & Bob in the Morning on The River 97.3. You can hear me every Friday (almost) around 7:10 a.m. sharing my top picks for each weekend.
In spring, we visited Luray, Va. to visit wineries (and one distillery), eat the most delicious scrapple of our lives, and see the caverns. I neglected to blog any of this, shame on me. But here’s a photo.
We partnered with our good friends at GK Visual to launch a new webseries called, “What’s on Tap” (including a kick-ass launch party at Midtown Cinema). It’s a different spin on the standard interview, a more casual conversation to sort of go beyond the press release and meet the people who shape our neighborhoods.
We talked to Steven Neiman, Liz Laribee, Sue Pera, Patty Kim and Ron Kamionka. We also shared our test pilot — you’ll of course recognize contributor Tierney Pomone. Be sure to subscribe or follow via Facebook — a new episode is launched on the first of each month, including New Year’s Day.
My husband won a cruise(!) from a hole-in-one(!) at a charity golf outing, so we took a rather impromptu vacation to the Caribbean. Another one I failed to blog, so here’s a picture:
Attended an awesome 80s-themed Halloween party. It wasn’t a requirement, but almost everyone DIY-ed their costumes, and the turnout was terrific. Yes, I was Rambo. Also pictured: Top Gun’s Kelly McGillis, Jazzercise, and “punk rock Maura.”
I helped judge the #ChoppedPA event at the Pennsylvania Food and Wine Show again this year. PennLive had a booth to promote the Food & Drink section of the site — and they turned me into my very own cardboard cutout!
For the holidays, we partnered with our dear friends at Stouts and Stilettos (late resolution to write my promised posts for their site!) for a “Craft Craft Night” where we made holiday decorations and gifts from craft beer materials like bottle caps and coasters, along with wine bottles. It was also a terrific beer share!
Finally, we helped celebrate a good friend’s too-close-to-Christmas birthday with Frederick, Md. tour. We hit Sunday brunch at The Wine Kitchen, samples at Milkhouse Brewery at Stillpoint Farm and Linganore Winecellars.
