Last month, I wrote a story about top craft brewer, Deschutes Brewery’s recent availability in our area. I shared a list of tasting events and venues where you could find their first offerings on tap and by the bottle.
This week marks Deschutes Brewery’s “official” launch weekend — and this time you can meet the gang from Oregon at a variety of events, from beer dinners to meet’n greets and more.
And while you’ve had the chance to try their top sellers like Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Black Butte Porter, at select locations you’ll also find Hop Henge Experimental IPA or Fresh Squeezed flowing as well.
Let’s start with the big stuff:
Hot Dogs and Beer with Deschutes Brewery at Brass Rail Deli
April 16, 5-7 p.m.
Hot dogs, beer, good times – what is a more “American” style pastime? That’s why we’ve pulled together a series of special hot dogs paired with Deschutes Brewery beers while the Oregon brewery is down celebrating its launch in Harrisburg. Mirror Pond Pale Ale with a Campy Dog sample and Black Butte Porter with a BBQBR Dog sample are just a couple of the tasty pairings of the evening.
Brew Burgers with Deschutes Brewery at The Warwick Hotel
April 16, 4-10 p.m.
Deschutes Brewery is bringing its beers to the region, and what better way to celebrate than with some good, old fashioned burgers? The Warwick Hotel chefs are creating some special burgers just for this evening, all perfectly paired with Deschutes’ Oregon beers. Giveaways, sample platters, the gang from Deschutes hanging out from 7-10 p.m. for a chat and you have a great Wednesday evening in store.
Deschutes Brewery Ice Cream Social at Market Cross Pub
April 16, 7 p.m.
Decadent delights are in store! It’s an ice cream flight night – ice cream and beer flights that is! Four of Deschutes Brewery’s beers have been paired up with four ice cream flavors from Twin Kiss Creamery in Shermans Dale. Now that’s dessert.
Deschutes Brewery Tap Takeover! at Arooga’s 124 and Holy Hound Taproom
April 17, 7 p.m.
Deschutes Brewery’s crew is here all the way from Oregon to celebrate their launch in South Central PA, and they’ve taken over the taps at two of your favorite watering holes. Welcome them to the region by visiting the Holy Hound Taproom or Arooga’s for a pint. Live music, food and beer pairings and even a growler giveaway at Holy Hound will make the evening a party to remember.
Damn Tasty Beer In The Fridge!
April 18, 7-9 p.m.
Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery gang is here celebrating their launch, and they are bringing their damn tasty beers with them. The Fridge chefs have created some special menu items, plus thrown in a couple of standard favorites, to pair perfectly with Deschutes beers for an evening for which your palate thank you.
Deschutes Brewery Tap Takeover! at Federal Taphouse Lancaster
April 18, 7 p.m.
Deschutes Brewery’s crew is here all the way from Oregon and what did they do? They took over the taps at The Federal Taphouse with six of their damn tasty beers. Federal Taphouse chefs are creating four food-beer pairings for the evening to help celebrate Deschutes’ arrival in South Central PA.
Deschutes Brewery Brunch at The Sturges Speakeasy
April 19, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Beer and breakfast: it’s not an oxymoron anymore! Join us for a perfect weekend brunch of tasty treats paired and cooked with Deschutes Brewery beers. To top it all off, Deschutes Brewery staff will be in the house to hang out and talk craft beer over bacon.

April 19, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Deschutes Brewery’s crew is here all the way from Oregon to celebrate their launch in South Central PA, and they’ve taken over the taps at Batdorf Restaurant. With a fantastic array of their beers on tap, giveaways and lots of fun characters to chat craft beer with, come on down and welcome them in style.
Deschutes Brewery Tap Takeover at Brewhouse Grille
April 19, 7 p.m.
The grand finale of Deschutes Brewery’s series of launch events in the region, the Oregon gang has taken over the taps at Brewhouse Grille for the evening. Live music, trivia and prizes – plus a large selection of damn tasty beers.
Meet, Greet, Sample
The brewery is hosting a series of “Meet, Greet, Sample” events in the area as part of its launch party. It’s the perfect opportunity to try some combination of the beers above while making small talk with personalities from Deschutes Brewery.
