Since an email request in the ’00s, it’s been my tradition to provide readers with a list of bars that are open for business on Christmas Eve and Day. Whether you’re escaping the family or meeting up with old friends in town for the holidays, there are a surprising number of options for celebratory beverages this holiday season.

Note: Do remember it is the season of giving, and those bartenders and servers don’t get your luxurious holiday hours. Please tip accordingly – oh, and remember your manners.

Open Christmas Eve
- Arooga’s 15 & 39 – Until 8 p.m.
- Arooga’s 22, Downtown, 422, 94, 124 – Until 2 a.m.
- Big Woody’s – Until 7 p.m. (kitchen closes at 5 p.m.)
- The Brick Haus — Until 2 a.m.
- The Clover Club — Opens at 4 p.m. for a Christmas Eve Naughty Boy & Girl Party.
- Cork & Fork — 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Duke’s Riverside — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Fenicci’s — Open until midnight, serving the Italian traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes for Christmas Eve.
- Flinchy’s — Open at 11 a.m. for lunch; kitchen closes at 5 p.m., but the bar stays open all night. Featuring DJ Don.
- Fratelli’s Towne Tavern — 12-5 p.m.
- Gullifty’s — 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- McGrath’s Pub — 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; kitchen closes at 6 p.m.
- MoMo’s BBQ and Grill — Closes at 4 p.m.
- Mount Hill Tavern — Open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Note Wine Bar — Prix Fixe dinner, seatings at 5 p.m. or 8 p.m.
- Pete’s Olde Towne — Open 12-7 p.m.
- Pints Bar & Grill — Open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.; kitchen 5-10 p.m.
- Sierra Madre — Open ’til 2 a.m.; kitchen available ’til midnight.
- The Silver Lake Inn — 9 a.m. to midnight.
- T.J. Rockwell’s is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., as is The Mill in Hershey.
- Ted’s Bar and Grill 22 — Kitchen closes at 8 p.m., but the bar will stay open later.
- Ted’s Midtown — Open from 11 a.m. to midnight with a full kitchen until 11 p.m.
- Savannah’s on Hanna — Open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Shady McGrady’s is open — business as usual — from noon to 2 a.m.
Open Christmas Day
- All Arooga’s locations — Open at 5 p.m. Full menu.
- Bourbon Street Saloon — Opens at 8 p.m.
- Brick Haus — Opens at 8 p.m.
- The Clover Club — Opens at 4 p.m. “Christmas Day Jammies Party”
- Flinchy’s — Opens at 6 p.m., bar only.
- Joe K’s Brewhouse — Opens at 8 p.m.
- Mulligan’s Downtown Pub — Opens at 8 p.m.
- Pints Bar & Grill — Opens at 7 p.m.; kitchen ’til 10 p.m.
- Sawyer’s — Opens at 8 p.m.
- Shady McGrady’s — Open noon to 2 a.m.
- Sierra Madre — Opens at 7 p.m.; limited kitchen
- Susquehanna Ale House 22 — Opens at 8 p.m.
- Ted’s Midtown — Open 4 p.m.-midnight; no kitchen — complimentary cookies.
