Before we forge full-speed into the new year, let’s take a quick look back.
In 2014, we wrote 396 blog posts. This included 62 Giveaways, the most popular of which were tickets to the Poconos 400 and a gift pack to Al’s of Hampden & Pizza Boy Brewing Co.

Here are some of the year’s highlights:
Brewery at Hershey brewmaster Ryan DeLutis and I brewed a batch of March 12 Maibock — he and I share the same birthday. We’re on schedule to brew again this week. Stay tuned for our birthday release!
The Garlic Poet started hosting regular Chef’s Table dinners married with local craft breweries. This was the first (I think) with Millbock Brewing Co.
Took a photography class with the one and only Dani Fresh to help me re-learn some basics.
Visited one of my longest and best friends in her new home in Indiana (the state). While there, we dined at The Cerulean, and I did this write-up on it.
I turned 35. We drank this.
We (RunPositive) hosted the 2nd annual Jersey Mike 5K. Look for the announcements for the 2015 race.
We co-hosted the first Pints & Pedis event with Stouts and Stilettos.
I bought Andy tickets to see Bruce Springsteen in Hershey.
I spent some time on Fox43 with my River 97.3 buds, Glenn & Bob.
We went camping and hiking at Ricketts Glen.
I — along with the rest of the area — did the Color Run. Though I did it with a 101-degree fever. Makes it pretty hard to make excuses about working out now.
We also hiked Pinchot Park, played in the water and followed it up with $2 Bloodys at the Silver Lake.
I also ran the Glow Run.
I was invited to sit in the “tweet seats” with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet’s summer workshop featuring dancers from the New York City Ballet.
Some of my best girlfriends go together to try the newest fad: Painting whilst wineing. We did this at Paint and Create in Lemoyne.
Took a thousand adorable pictures of my dog.
Went to the beach with my mom and sis and drank A LOT of grapefruit crushes.
Ooh, hey, we got to go sailing! #lifeishard
Andy and I also returned to Chicago for a mini baseball and food vacation.
Went to my first NASCAR race at the Poconos. Met James Harrison.
Helped “brew” another Appalachian Brewing Co., 2014’s Fresh Hop Ale. So fresh and delicious!
GK Visual and I hosted a special 3rd in the Burg screening of our series, What’s on Tap, at Whitaker Center Stage Two.
Keri and I took a #sistercation to Deep Creek, Md.
Helped surprise this guy for his 40th birthday!
Modeled some wedding dresses (along with Tierney!) for Taylored for You bridal.
Judged the Central PA Super Chef, which my friend Chef Kurt Wewer of The Garlic Poet, won.
Spent a relaxing weekend at the Dogfish Inn in Lewes, DE. Met Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione.
Went to my first student-attended, prime time Penn State football game versus Ohio State.
Got to see MxPx’s Mike Herrera perform in our friends’ living room!
Was interviewed by Al Gnoza on ABC 27 about the state of Harrisburg’s nightlife.
Joined The Bruce Bond Late Afternoon Show on Saturday Morning as Bruce’s regular co-host. Check us out every Saturday morning on 92.1 WTPA from 9 a.m. to noon.
Saw ALL my cousins over Thanksgiving (first time maybe EVER).
Visited a distillery in northcentral Pennsylvania (more on that later).
Witnessed by first (and second, third and fourth) hockey fight at a Hershey Bears game.
And spent New Year’s Eve getting pedicures and eating sushi (and in my case, falling asleep before midnight).
