Working from st@rtup Harrisburg has many advantages.

Reliable wifi, a quiet place settle in, and parking top the list for work perks.

Endless supplies of Elementary coffee and ZerØday beer top the list of incentives that make st@rtup a comfortable work environment.

How St@rtup Changed the Way I Work

Another perk that comes with working at st@rtup is its location. It’s smack-dab in the middle of the community hub that is Midtown Harrisburg.

For me, the location has been key to focusing on work and not having to fret about going too far out of my way for necessities.

Midtown has been on the rise for a while and your coworking spot at st@rtup puts you in the middle of some of the best restaurants, bars, and other businesses in the city.

Whether you’re looking for a casual meeting setting or a full dining experience there is something within walking distance to fit the bill.

Lunch on-the-go

A lot of times I don’t have time to sit down for lunch without my computer. I need to work while I’m eating.

This means I need to get my lunch fast.

I used to rely on fast food but found I was always sluggish afterward. Packing a lunch is always an option but I am absent-minded and usually forget to do so in the morning.

After a while of eating fast food, I started to look for other options and found Pastorante.

Since I’ve found it, I think I’ve eaten there at least once a week, if not more. I order, pick up my lunch and I’m back at my Hot Desk in a matter of minutes.

My go-to is their panini and salad lunch combo. It’s between $5-7 for a really good sandwich and a side salad — my usual is the meatball panini and side Ceasar.

On Thursdays and Fridays, I head to Broad Street Market.

Here, I have all of the options. Do I want a gyro with french fries? Tacos? Chicken Tikka Marsala?

Now I can even grab a beer while waiting for my order from Zeroday Øutpost.

Casual meetings

There are different settings for different meetings. Some meetings dictate a formal setting and that’s why st@rtup has three different conference room options.

For a more casual setting, take a short walk to The Sturges Speakeasy.

Speakeasy isn’t new to the people of Harrisburg, but it might not always be your first thought for a meeting.

It’s just steps away from st@rtup and offers a usually quiet atmosphere with all the amenities of a full bar and restaurant.

Maybe you can even convince the person to meet during happy hour, 5-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, for half-priced drinks. $3 Perpetual IPAs during a meeting? I’ll take it.

If I have an evening meeting I often suggest ZerØday Brewing Co. It’s quiet enough to have a productive meeting and is within walking distance so you don’t lose your parking spot.

They open at 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and always have something new to try in their infusion tower or on their tap list.

If you’re not looking for a beer but still want to get “out of the office,” there is no better plan than Midtown Scholar.

The Scholar offers all the characteristics and serenity of a coffee shop with a helping of Midtown charm.

Be sure to grab a giant cookie or piece of sweet potato pie while you’re there.

Finding dinner

Sometimes workdays can turn into work-nights very easily.

You get caught up in something, and now you’re extremely hungry and in need of a relaxing meal.

In other words, #treatyoself.

While downtown Harrisburg has many restaurants within driving distance, there are plenty of great options steps from st@rtup.

One place for a full-service dining experience is The Millworks. Their exciting menu coupled with housemade cocktails and craft beer is sure to help you unwind after a long day.

Be sure to stroll through the building to see their resident artist studios.

HMAC is always another option and if you’re heading there late on a Friday there is always a chance to catch local artists performing at Stage on Herr.

Speakeasy, Pastorante and Broad Street Market (during 3rd in the Burg) can also fall into this category as well.

Having st@artup located around all of these local hot-spots makes it easy to keep working through the day and then having a place to wind down once the workday concludes.

Live at st@rtup

While you may feel like you already live there, you can live just a short elevator ride from your work desk.

The Union Lofts are one-bedroom apartments with full amenities that make living, working, and playing at st@rtup easier than ever.

Midtown also offers a host of other living options that make your commute to sta@rtup smooth and easy.

How would coworking from st@rtup change your work, play, and life balance?
