Downtown Harrisburg’s iconic Restaurant Row is getting a new addition.
While it’s not a new BYOB bistro or craft cocktail lounge, the new project would have you living just steps away from Second Street’s bars and restaurants.
Harristown Enterprises, Inc. announced plans to develop new upscale apartments at 221 N. Second St., located in the heart of “Restaurant Row.”
The new project will include 10 one-bedroom and two two-bedroom apartments plus first-floor retail space.
“Upscale apartments in the downtown are in high demand,” said Brad Jones, President and CEO of Harristown Enterprises Inc. “We want to bring more exciting, unique, and desirable apartments to the market to grow the number of downtown residents and to support retail and restaurant activity along this corridor.”
This is not Harristown’s first venture with downtown living. Since 2015, the group has reinvested around $40 million into downtown Harrisburg projects.
Recently, they opened three upscale complexes — The Flats @ Strawberry Square, Fifteen @ TwentyTwo, and SoMa on Third.
At the end of summer, they revitalized the SoMa (South of Market) area on South Third St. with bright lights and banners.
