Whether you’re looking for a cup of coffee or a pint of craft beer, Cocoa Beanery in Hershey now has something to satisfy all cravings.

The coffee shop recently added a six-tap system to offer five rotating craft beer and cider selections plus nitro coffee.

In addition to the new drink selections, their Bites and Brews menu is designed to pair craft beer selections with Biergarten-inspired foods.

Menu items range from snacks perfect for an after-work treat to paninis that can be enjoyed as a full meal.

Charcuterie with Boulevard Brewing Co. Hibiscus Gose

This charcuterie board makes for a perfect snacking option, though it is only available after 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.

Currently, featured meats include wine-soaked sausage and smoked ham and cheese options include salsa cheddar and smoked Gouda.

The plate also comes with crostini and a small portion of fresh fruit.

Boulevard’s gose is slightly tart with a sweet berry flavor from the hibiscus. The sweetness of the gose pairs perfectly with the savory meat and cheese.

Pretzel Nuggets with Devil’s Backbone Brewing Co. Vienna Lager

It doesn’t get any more classic than pairing pretzels and beer.

Cocoa Beanery’s pretzels are fluffy with just the right amount of salt. For dipping, they offer a housemade mustard that is both sweet and tangy and a cheese dip that they make in collaboration with the chef at Houlihan’s.

Both are delicious.

The Vienna Lager is crisp and has a hint of sweetness that goes nicely with both dipping sauces and pretzel nuggets.

Smoked Cheddar and Turkey Panini with Troegs Independent Brewing Hop Knife

I’m always wary of paninis because some are too toasted and can cut up the roof of your mouth.

This one was grilled just right and filled with turkey, smoked cheddar, applewood bacon, fresh tomatoes, and pesto sauce.

Hop Knife is one of my favorite beers. I was happy to see they had something local on tap, and it was an excellent pairing for this sandwich.

The earthy and zesty hop flavor of the beer was an excellent complement to the pesto.

Ask the staff for suggestions if you’re not sure what beer would pair best with your food.

Other recent tap selections include Jack’s Dry-Hopped Cider (my cider of choice) and Sweet Water’s Triple Tail Tropical IPA.

While the tap list may rotate, the Velvet Hammer nitro coffee from Square One Coffee is always on tap. The coffee is sweet and light with hints of dark chocolate notes.
