Harrisburg Beer Week without collaboration beers would be like Cinco de Mayo without tequila. Valentine’s Day without chocolate. Oktoberfest without steins full of Fest Bier.
In other words, it just wouldn’t be the same.
Thankfully, local brewers seem to realize this as well, and they have saved us from having a collab-less #HBGBeerWeek.
Look for these on tap when you’re galavanting around during one of the best weeks of the year.
717 Collaboration Beer
When talking collabs, there is nowhere else to start. Troegs, Pizza Boy, and ABC plus newcomer ZerØday put their heads together to come up with another exciting collab for this year.
When creating this year’s 717, the collaborators wanted a story behind the beer. Well, with newcomer ZerØday, and their brewmaster, they got their inspiration and their story.
Inspiration struck when Theo Armstrong, ZerØday’s Brewmaster, started to talk about his journey on the Appalachian Trail. He talked about when he hit the halfway point in Pine Grove Furnace and participated in the tradition known as the “Half Gallon Challenge” where thru-hikers take down an entire half gallon of Hershey’s Ice Cream.
Theo’s choice was Cherry and Vanilla. Like that, a beer was born.
717 Collaboration Extra Cream Ale brewed with vanilla and cherries has a tart flavor with a hint of vanilla, and notes of grass, watermelon, and raspberry.

ZerØday Brewing Co. and Matt Caylor (2017 Design Your Dream Beer Winner)
Last year, Matt Caylor, entered the Harrisburg Beer Week digital raffle with a dream to create a beer with ZerØday. Starting on Friday, you can get Matt’s dream in your glass.
Matt had the opportunity to sit down with the ZerØday team and hash out an idea, which then was dialed in by Theo before Matt came back into the brewhouse to brew up his dream.
Ducksqueezers Elixir is a sour ale brewed with ginger, beets, and Pink Himalayan Salt.

Minute To Midnight
Zeroday Brewing Co. and Weyerbacher Brewing Co.
Hey, NEIPA drinkers, this one’s for you.
Weyerbacher made the trek from Easton to Midtown to brew the first ever in-house collab at ZerØday.
Minute to Midnight is a Northeast Style Double IPA clocking in at 9.3% ABV that was double dry hopped with Denali and Calypso hops.
Keep an eye out for some crazy signature ZerØday infusions with this beer throughout the week, too.
Stouts and Stilettos and Boneshire Brew Works
Aloha, Anana will be available on draft and in 22 oz. bottles to go during Boneshire’s Ladies Night Luau on Thursday, April 25 from 6-10 p.m.

All Collaboration Takeover at Moo-Duck Brewery

If you’re into collab beers, but don’t have time to jump around, this is the event for you.
Moo-Duck collabs with employees, local homebrewers, and customers on 10 (yes, 10) different beers which will be here and gone before you know it.
Here’s a small sample of the collabs:

- Strawberry Gose
- Hazy Pineapple Pale Ale
Even if you’re not a “flight person” this seems like a pretty good excuse to break that rule.
Harrisburg Beer Wheat
For the second year now, Cox and Funk collaborated on a beer in celebration of Harrisburg Beer Week. Last year they had a friendly competition, but this year they decided to join forces and created one beer.
Harrisburg Beer Wheat is a hoppy wheat ale that is set to release Wednesday, April 25 at Funk’s E-Town Taproom. There are only two kegs of this beer, so don’t expect it to stick around too long.
