Wedding season is in full swing! And as a young 20-something, I’m at the stage of my life where ALL my friends are getting married. (Seriously. I’ve had a wedding or wedding related activity almost every weekend since Memorial Day.) And as a young 20-something living on my own in the city, I don’t have gobs of extra money to spend bulking up my wedding (guest) wardrobe. I’d love to have a new outfit for every occasion, but I just can’t swing it.
Enter Twice Found Upscale Consignment in downtown Lancaster (a few storefronts down from Sophie Stargazer and Nicole Taylor Boutique). It’s been a godsend to get me through the slew of showers, engagement parties, and ceremonies I’ve attended this summer.
Like its name says, Twice Found is an upscale consignment store, meaning it carries gently used (or in some cases, never worn) mid to upscale brands and designers at a discounted price. Think clothes, bags, shoes and jewelry from Lilly Pulitzer, Banana Republic, Kate Spade, Ann Taylor, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, Coach, etc.
The dress in the photo below would run close to $100, but you can score it at Twice Found for only $29. Twice Found is packed with great finds like this!
I’ve done Stitch Fix and Rent the Runway for special occasions (both are great, don’t get me wrong!) but they can fall on the pricier side and there’s a waiting period. At Twice Found, I can actually look through the racks, try things on right there and not spend an arm and a leg on a new outfit. It’s trendy and fashionable while still being thrifty and financially savvy.
Twice Found isn’t only for shopping, it’s for selling, too! Similar to other consignment stores, you can consign your clothes with Twice Found and receive 50% of the item’s determined value when it’s sold. Consigning is a great way to clean out your closet. Who knows, someone may find their “new” perfect little black dress or favorite jeans in your closet!
Check out Twice Found downtown at 309-311 North Queen Street or at their new location, Twice Found Resale Boutique, on the Lititz Pike. The new shop carries juniors and menswear in addition to women’s clothing.
P.S. Stop by Commonwealth on Queen next door if you have some time during your visit to Lancaster. Their bagel and lox is to die for!
