Introducing ‘sip @ soma’ a new tasting room experience in downtown Harrisburg.
sip @ soma, located at 13 S. Third St. in downtown Harrisburg, is a new project by Harristown Enterprises Inc. in partnership with Sara Bozich, created to host Pennsylvania breweries, wineries, and distilleries from across the state for limited engagements.
The space allows participating vendors to get a taste of Harrisburg city life, interact with an engaged audience, and learn what the SoMa neighborhood has to offer.
“Harristown is excited to create ‘sip @ soma’ to continue its redevelopment of this unique and growing neighborhood,” said Brad Jones, President and CEO of Harristown Enterprises, Inc.
“Over the last 20 years, Harristown has leveraged more than $20 Million of reinvestment in the SoMa district which is largely the area from Chestnut to Market and 3rd to 4th Streets in the downtown. We believe this new tasting room will continue to create leasing opportunities for new boutiques and small businesses to occupy some of the available 1st floor retail spaces in SoMa,” Jones said.
sip @ soma is outfitted with a modern look and feel and features a 12-tap system and just 24 seats. The limited capacity creates an opportunity for an intimate setting. It allows both customers and vendors to have a unique, engaging experience.
The event series debuted with a private event with Free Will Brewing Co in March 2019. And, it has hosted a new vendor almost every month since.
How it works
Events will occur primarily around 3rd in the Burg weekends; guest vendors will set-up for up to three consecutive days of tastings.
Due to the limited seating, reservations in the form of free tickets will be required for most sip @ soma events.
When announced, free tickets will be made available via Sara Bozich channels.
All beverages are pay-as-you-go, and some vendors may offer to-go sales of bottled and canned products.
During event hours, neighboring restaurant Bricco will offer a small delivery menu for guests. SoMa Harrisburg’s other newest tenant, Stash Vintage x Midtown Dandy, will be open adjacent to event dates.
