Downtown Harrisburg businesses are getting into the 3rd in the Burg spirit with a new lineup of monthly events and happenings starting this weekend.

Intended as a celebration of all parts of Harrisburg, 3rd in the Burg events have largely had focus in Midtown.

Whether enjoying evening hours at Broad Street Market, checking out the new gallery at Susquehanna Art Museum, or having a beer while listening to local music at Zeroday Brewing Co., the bulk of the action was north of Forster St.

Now, with new venues and events, there is more than ever to do in downtown during 3rd in the Burg.

See what you can experience this month during March’s 3rd in the Burg on Friday, March 15.

Sip & Shop at Midtown Dandy x Stash Vintage

Shop vintage. Have a drink.

For 3rd in the Burg, the vintage boutique invited local winery, Spring Gate, to provide samples so you can sip while you peruse the racks for your next vintage find.

Every trip to Midtown Dandy x Stash offers a new shopping experience. Both Anela and Andy are constantly adding new items so you’re bound to find that “a-ha” piece that speaks to you.

Whitaker Unplugged

Whitaker Center for Science & the Arts is also getting into 3rd in the Burg. Each Friday, they’ll turn their lobby into a concert hall for local artists.

The new series, ‘Whitaker Unplugged,’ gives local acoustic singers and songwriters a chance to shine in a coffee-shop style atmosphere.

Following each month’s performance, local judges will award a cash prize to a winner — not to mention a chance to break into the local music scene.

Tickets to Whitaker Unplugged are just $5.
