I realized as we’re officially launching this rebrand of my biz that we may not even know each other!
I’m Sara Bozich, a writer who grew up in the south-central Pa. area. Back then, I fully intended to be a Carrie Bradshaw-esque NYC columnist or screenwriter.
Instead, I found myself deposited directly back into Harrisburg after college, working at a city/regional magazine.
It was the cusp of (one of) downtown Harrisburg’s renaissance, and I was in just the right circumstances to be plum in the middle of it.
Out with Sara
I worked at a couple of downtown bars and restaurants and freelanced for myriad publications. Eventually, I landed a weekly nightlife column with The Patriot-News called Out with Sara, which ran for 13 years.
The column was a freelance position, and I held a variety of day jobs — customer service, creative marketing, fundraising, public relations, media specialist — while freelancing elsewhere and maintaining my blog. I started sarabozich.com around the same time as a supplement to the column and to showcase my clips.
Growing SaraBozich.com
In 2007, I got serious about the blog, dedicating to two specific pieces of content each week: a giveaway from a local business and the Weekend Roundup — the greater Harrisburg area’s premier event listing (which TheBurg syndicates each week on its website since 2016).
In order to maintain fresh content for the growing audience, I added contributors to the site in 2011.
Shortly thereafter, at the encouragement of one of my then-contributors, I hosted my first public Happy Hour. It shocked me when nearly 200 people showed up at Sawyer’s for the party.
Becoming CEO
By 2012, I effectively worked two full-time jobs. I held a demanding position in the communications shop at the state House of Representatives, where I had ~among other duties~ implemented social media for all of our members. And I operated “SaraBozich.com,” where I provided promotion and event services for clients.
When the opportunity arose to take a buy-out and leave the House, I took the leap. I transitioned to running my own business full time and never looked back.
The Future for Sara Bozich
As sights are set on 2020, the beginning of a new year and decade, we’re excited to (finally) showcase the launch of the new look for “Sara Bozich,” a continued source for Harrisburg food/drink and entertainment information and a proven partner for events, promotion, and social media services.

- 2003 – Out with Sara began; purchased sarabozich.com domain
- 2007 – Launched regular giveaways and Weekend Roundup on sarabozich.com
- 2011 – First public event; Added contributors to the site
- 2012 – Left my previous full-time employment to run company full-time
- 2014 – “Intern Jimi” joined the team
- 2016 – Weekend Roundup first syndicated in TheBurg
- 2018 – Began rebranding process to better share what we do!
- 2019 – Soft launch of new brand mark, website
- 2020 – Official Launch Party! The Future
