Harrisburg Beer Week returns April 17-26

Don’t look now, but Harrisburg Beer Week 2020 is just two months away!

Harrisburg Beer Week returns for its sixth year from April 17-26! Popular elements like Little Big Beer Fest, Battle of the Homebrewers, and 717 Collaboration Beer are back with new twists for 2020.

As always, Harrisburg Beer Week’s main goals are to support and showcase local craft beer culture while also fundraising for Harrisburg River Rescue.

Over the first five years, the event has raised more than $170,000 including their largest donation yet of $45,000 in 2019.

Let’s get a head start on that #HBGBeerWeek planning!

717 Collaboration Beer

The official beer of Harrisburg Beer Week is back! The highly-anticipated 717 Collab is one of the most (if not the most) popular elements of the week.

This year’s collaborating breweries are Tröegs Independent Brewing, Appalachian Brewing Co., Zeroday Brewing Co., Boneshire Brew Works, and The Millworks.

717 Collab R&D Series – New for 2020!

Last year, the path to a final beer encompassed a series of test batches. It was kept a little secret in 2019, but this year the 717 Collab R&D Series puts this process in the spotlight.

These beers aren’t early versions of a final beer, rather pulling at threads within a recipe to see where they end up. A few of these beers have already been released at some of the participating breweries.

Released 717 Collab R&D Series beers include:

  • Kveik Pale Ale – Zeroday
  • Amber Ale – Millworks Brewery
  • Anagnorisis Stout – Boneshire

All three are currently on draft at their respective breweries. Please check availability before going to the brewery.

Once released, the 717 Collab Beer will be available at each brewery in addition to local bars and restaurants.
