All-new wines from Jack’s Cider House
Atomic Dog, the parent company of Mela Kitchen and Jack’s Hard Cider, is also name to the new line of wines out of Jack’s Cider House in Gettysburg, Pa.
Winemaker (and cidermaker) Joe Cuneo-Tomasi crafted five signature wines, which debuted upon opening. The line is simple and approachable, featuring three dry options and two sweet wines.

Atomic Dog Ultra Violet White
I first sampled Atomic Dog Ultra Violet White, a dry Pinot Gris, at the Mela Kitchen preview. I marveled at its light color (I almost mistook it for water at my table!). Ultra Violet White is light-bodied, refreshing and crisp with notes of fresh grapefruit and orange blossom.
This bottle disappeared quickly over here. I will be back for more.

Atomic Dog Fusion Dry Rosé
If you’ve hung around here a bit (or in-person), you know I’ve been a big fan of rosé long before its inescapable popularity.
Atomic Dog Fusion gets its beautiful berry hue from a blend of Merlot, Petite Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Rosé’s signature notes of strawberry are present along with hints of watermelon.
Easy, anytime drinking.

Atomic Dog Alpha Red
For meatier dishes (or Mela’s Vegetarian Lasagna!) and cooler temps, I’d pair Atomic Dog Alpha Red.
This dry blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot offers a light astringency behind notes of plum.

Atomic Dog Gamma White
A semi-sweet white blend, Atomic Dog Gamma White is sure to be a palate pleaser.
This blend uses Vidal Blanc, Traminnette, Valvin Muscat, and Catawba. Neither overly dry nor cloyingly sweet, it has notes of apricot and tropical fruits.
An easy Dog Days of Summer porch-sipper.

Atomic Dog Infra Red
Finally, sweet red wine drinkers have an outstanding choice with Infra Red.
Made with a blend of Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this red is best served chilled. Notes of sweet candied cooled raspberries and the tiniest hint of spice.
Fill your favorite insulated wine cup and cozy up next to the fire pit with this one.
