Allegro Wine Tasting Flights are the latest reinvention from Allegro Winery, located in Brogue and Stewartstown, Pa.
Allegro Winery
Allegro is one of my favorite local wineries. They provide a quality product without any pretension. In fact, they make sure that wine is fun.
Follow their Facebook page for the best wine memes.
They offer an extensive catalog of wines, from the fruity and fun sweet and semi-sweet options (including wine slushies!), to dry whites, rosés, and reds.
Allegro Winery began in the 1980s, and current owners Carl Helrich and Kris Miller purchased the vineyard in 2002. This year, they purchased the former Naylor Wine Cellars property and also began home deliveries.
I recommend reading the full Allegro story here.
How to enjoy Allegro Wines
Allegro’s tasting rooms are currently closed due to Covid-19, but they offer four ways to enjoy their wines.
- Curbside pickup at four locations. Order online or by phone; call when you arrive. You also can find their wine at Pa. Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores and other grocery locations.
- Local Saturday Home Delivery to 24 York County zip codes!
- UPS Delivery direct to your door! Shipping is free on any 12 bottle purchase. Allegro ships to 32 states.
- Share a bottle or enjoy a Wine Tasting Flight outdoors in Brogue and Stewartstown.
Pro Tip: Wine + Cheese
You may know that Pennsylvania is now requiring a food purchase for on-site alcohol sales. Allegro has you covered! Enjoy “Charcuterie for Two” for just $10 at Brogue or Stewartstown.
You also can include a Wine Tasting Flight and the charcuterie “to go” when you pick-up curbside at either location. Allegro is open from 12-6 p.m. daily.

Allegro Wine Tasting Flights
Adapting to government restrictions and providing peace of mind, these new Wine Tasting Flights are conveniently and safely packaged in 187 mL “mini” bottles.
A Flight kit includes four sample bottles of your choosing for just $15. In total, the flight is equivalent to a standard 750 mL bottle of wine, and each is enough for up to six people to sample.
Or, it’s a fun way to have a progressive tasting at home, like we did.
Modified Date Night
Real talk: Andy and I have had exactly one “date night” since March 15. Unless you count popcorn and the entire five seasons of The Wire this summer.
Exploring new wines is one of our favorite things to do together, and this in-home Wine Tasting Flight from Allegro was something fun we could do together to kick-off the weekend.
We sample Allegro’s Pinot Grigio, Rosé, Petite Verdot, Syrah — and Allegro kindly sent me a complimentary extra sample of Duet, a new Merlot-Petite Verdot blend that turned out to by my husband’s favorite!
This blended well with more cooking competition shows and a Fantasy Football draft, and so yeah, we’re not really good at date night — but! It was great to enjoy these together.
I look forward to our next in-person visit!
