RG Hummer Quality Meats is now open at West Shore Farmers Market.
First of all — no, RG Hummer Meat + Cheese is NOT leaving the Broad Street Market.
Proprietor Ryan Hummer will operate both market stands — though you’ll be seeing more of him at West Shore for the near future.
Broad Street Market customers are familiar with Ryan’s smiling face (even behind a mask!), competent and helpful staff, and Hummer’s expansive line of quality meats and cheeses.
At the West Shore Farmers Market, his focus will be on top-quality cuts of beef, pork, and lamb. Hummer will also feature their wood-smoked sugar-cured bacons, a variety of smoked meats and housemade sausages, plus Hummer’s Premium Hams.
Cheeses, pickles, sauces, and other items will continue to be available at the Broad Street Market location.
Ryan is a fifth-generation butcher. He is as passionate about his craft as he is his customers. He is often overheard sharing memories with visitors who shopped his family’s stands at various markets around the area, including the nearly 20 years at Broad Street Market.
In two brief visits with Hummer at the west shore location, I overheard multiple customers share their excitement of RG Hummer Quality Meats’ presence at the market. It is sure to be an exciting addition to an already vibrant market community.
RG Hummer Quality Meats is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
