It had been a while since I had a facial (no, I’m not counting sheet masks while drinking wine and reading, though that’s good in-between!), and I recently had to cancel a massage, so I was ready for a deep clean and relaxation.

The go-to service is a Custom Spa Facial. This is a nutrient-rich treatment that includes sonic cleansing, targeted enzymes, exfoliants, and masking. In addition to these customized treatments based on your skin type and skincare need, Tara feels passionately that relaxation is part of the experience. Every facial includes therapeutic massage, ozone steam, and hot towels.

Facial Services at Moxy
At your visit, you’ll be given a shoulder-less robe to don under the blankets, and you’ll lie face-up on the heated bed. Tara talks you through every step of her process and can address any questions or skincare concerns you have as you go. If you’ve never had a facial before, this can really help alleviate any anxiety or nervousness.
The first step, of course, is cleansing your skin, which Tara does with a silicone wand that helps penetrate the cleanser into your skin.
Following this, she may do a Gua Sha facial massage. Gua Sha stones can relieve tension in your face, boost blood circulation, and encourage lymphatic drainage to banish bloat.
An enzyme peel follows, and here the ozone steam helps it along as your pores open up.
Since my main skin concerns are hydration (I have such dry skin!) and anti-aging, we opted to add Hydrodermabrasion to my facial.
What is Hydrodermabrasion?
Hydrodermabrasion is an advanced, results-driven procedure with no downtime and instant glow. The Bio Brasion Trinity diamond tip resurfaces skin to exfoliate deeply and remove dead skin cells. The vacuum suction offer custom exfoliation and stimulates blood flow to assist in promoting cell renewal and collagen production. Basically, the ultimate in anti-aging skincare. Aquafuse spray serums are then infused into the skin for “oh wow you’re glowing” results.
Finally, Tara will finish your skincare with a hydrating mask while you relax. Tara rounds out every facial service with a relaxing head, neck, and arm massage. Honestly, if this is your trouble area, you can probably skip a massage and just enjoy a facial at Moxy Salon instead. Best bang for your buck.
In the “worth noting” category
In addition to the premium therapeutic massage included and add-ons available, another stand-out to Tara’s practice is that her facials don’t end at your jawline or even your neck. Treatments and massages extend down the neck and the upper chest, or décolletage, which are often just as sun-damaged and at-risk for aging and dehydration as your face.
Seasonal Feature: Holistic Facial
Tara also offers seasonal specials. This spring, she is featuring a Holistic Facial by Nature Pure Clinical Skincare. , This treatment uses products with the highest quality of all-natural ingredients. The nutrient-rich facial firms and transforms your skin using collagen, vitamins F,A,E, avocado oil, and green tea. Chamomile oil soothes while hippophae oil smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.
