Hope preview Open Stage’s 2021 schedule.
They say life imitates art, so it’s apropos that Open Stage selected Over the Rainbow: the Songs of Judy Garland to welcome guests back to the theater at 100% capacity.
Premiering in May, the show kicked off Open Stage’s 36th season more than a year after it closed its doors to comply with COVID-19 restrictions.
The 2020 lockdown was particularly depressing for Open Stage, as it had recently completed a half-million-dollar renovation that completely overhauled its space. The show went on, and the theatre produced virtual performances in a variety of formats that patrons could stream from the safety of their homes.
After a year of performing virtually, the group is excited to welcome audiences back for in-person performances.
“We are glad to be getting back in the swing of things,” says Open Stage’s Marketing Manager Rachel Landon. “We’re so happy we are all seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Season 36, titled “Breaking Through”, will feature the following 10 mainstage performances.
Open Stage’s Season 36 Lineup
- Carole King’s Tapestry Live (July 9-30)
