You can make a riff on a “skinny margarita” with Howie’s Spiked Lemonade.
I recently shared a feature on Instagram about Olteca Altos Tequila, and Greg — the proprietor and namesake of Howie’s Spiked — shared that it’s his wife’s go-to tequila. He said that she combines it with spiked lemonade, lime juice, and a splash of triple sec to create a Skinny Margarita.
Well, I had to try it myself!
Skinny Margarita with Howie’s Spiked Lemonade
- 1.5 oz Olteca Altos Tequila (or your favorite blanco)
- 1 oz Hibiscus Liqueur
- Fresh lime juice
- 12 oz can of Howie’s Spiked Lemonade
Combine tequila, hibiscus liqueur, and fresh lime juice in a tall glass filled with ice. Top with Howie’s Spiked Lemonade and enjoy!
This combination was really easy and good, and a nice alternative to pre-made margarita mixes.
Lemonade and Half-and-Half are both available in commemorative Pocono Raceway cans — while supplies last!
Howie’s Spiked uses real juice and cane sugar as a base. This creates a full-flavored alcoholic beverage that has 60% less sugar than similar ready-to-drink beverages.
It’s 5% ABV, 120 calories per can, and completely gluten-free.
Whether you’re catching a race, or chilling by the pool or fire pit, crack open some Howie’s Spiked this summer. It’s a great alternative for those sick of (or who don’t like) seltzers. And it’s loaded with flavor but not sugar.
Find Howie’s Spiked Teas and Lemonade at local grocery and beer stores! Oh, and don’t forget the cherries! Grab a jar (or two!) of Spiked Cherries or Balls of Fire — they make a great garnish, snack, and cocktail add!
