The 49th Annual Candlelight House Tour

Since its founding in 1973, the annual Candlelight House Tour has been the Historic Harrisburg Association’s most iconic event of the year. It showcases the rich diversity of architecture, living spaces, and lifestyles found throughout Harrisburg’s historic neighborhoods.

This year, the tour features 17 unique properties sprinkled throughout the Penbrook, Downtown, Midtown, and Olde Uptown neighborhoods of Harrisburg.

Featured stops include the historic King Mansion and Governor’s Mansion, two stunning gems of Harrisburg’s riverfront, the newly renovated and redesigned McCormick Library and Haldeman-Haly House, and the recently restored historic Donaldson Mansion and Carpets and Draperies building, two stunning Midtown examples of historic preservation and revitalization.

Plus, more than half of the properties on this year’s tour are private homes and apartment spaces, allowing tourgoers to get a sneak peek into the diversity of urban lifestyle and living choices of some of Harrisburg’s residents!

The tour includes Craftsman and Italianate architectural features, modern urban lofts, and Queen Anne architecture unique to Midtown’s quaint historic townhomes.

How it works

Navigating the Candlelight House Tour is easy, with convenient walking and driving options between neighborhoods and free parking in the city on the day of the event.

A full-color guidebook and map serve as your ticket for the tour, making it easy to plan your route in the order you choose and offering details on what highlights to look for at each tour stop.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online here.
