Downtown Camp Hill’s Plein Air Art Walk returns on May 17. This is one of my favorite events of the year in Camp Hill!
There’s something special about watching artists at work — brush to canvas, inspired by their surroundings — and there’s no better setting than charming downtown Camp Hill in the spring. The annual Plein Air Art Walk is back Saturday, May 17, and this year’s event brings even more color, creativity, and community connection to this beloved local tradition.
If you’ve been before, you know: This is a feel-good, family-friendly day filled with live music, local art, and small-town charm. And if you’ve never been? Let this be your official invitation.

What’s New & Not-to-Miss in 2025
Children’s Art in the Park
New this year! Camp Hill’s own elementary school art teacher, Erin Kort, will host free guided painting sessions just for kids. Designed for ages 6–12, these 45-minute workshops will introduce young artists to Plein Air techniques, letting them create their own masterpieces in the fresh air.
Sessions at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m. (registration available on Camp Hill Borough’s website)
Plein Air Art Walk on the Goddard Trail
Lace up your sneakers and bring the whole crew (yes, dogs too!) for The Goddard Trail 5K. Start the day with a community walk along the Maurice K. Goddard Trail, led by Thrive Fit Co. Explore Camp Hill via this hidden gem to view nature and see artists in action.
Begins at 10 a.m.; $20 per family | Start at Deeter Gallaher Group
Live Local Music, All Day Long
- Shine Delphi brings his jazzy, folky vibes to Willow Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Rhyne McCormick returns to the Smithland stage from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Quick Draw Competition
One of the highlights of the day! Watch artists paint live along Market Street from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., then head to Willow Park for the Quick Draw Art Ceremony at 1 p.m.. It’s always inspiring to see what’s created in just two hours!
Family Fun + Pop-Up Surprises
- Face Painting at Cornerstone Coffeehouse
- Glitter Tattoos under the big tent at Willow Park
- Beer Gardens at both Smithland and Watershed
- Interactive booths from Bee City, Bird Town, and the Human Relations Commission
Shop, Dine, and Support Local
Beyond the arts-focused fun, be sure to stroll Market Street and take in all that downtown Camp Hill has to offer — from boutique shopping to cozy cafés and vibrant local restaurants.
Whether you’re bringing the kids for art class, walking the Goddard Trail with your pup, or just exploring downtown Camp Hill’s shops and eats, the Plein Air Art Walk is a wonderful way to enjoy a Saturday in central PA.
