Mark your calendars — Friday, August 8 is shaping up to be the golf event of the summer, and it’s all for a cause that’s close to my heart.
The 3rd Annual Gary Huether, Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament is back, and the excitement is real.
It all takes place on Friday, Aug. 8 at Armitage Golf Course.
There’s still time to get involved — and believe me, you won’t want to miss what they have in store this year.
Here’s a peek at what’s happening on (and off!) the green:
- On-course bourbon & tequila tastings
- Golf ball air cannon (yes, really)
- $10,000 hole-in-one challenge
- On-course food & drinks from incredible sponsors
- PGA Long Drive Champion hitting the tee
- Prime rib dinner at The Grateful Goat to wrap the day
I couldn’t make it last year, but I heard this event was fantastic. This year, I’ve rallied some friends (actual golfers, as I am not), and I can’t wait to spend the day on the green for this cause.
More than just a day of fun, this event supports Project Senior, the nonprofit founded in memory of Gary Huether, Sr., who passed away in 2016 from Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Through Project Senior, they’re raising funds for critical research at places like Johns Hopkins University, pushing forward the fight to find a cure for FTD and related forms of Alzheimer’s.
This year, they’ve set their sights on raising $50,000 — and here’s how you can help:
