Downtown Harrisburg just got a new kind of “bar” — and this one is all about wellness, connection, and seriously cool drinks.
Agape Elixir Bar has officially opened its doors at 23 S. Third Street in the SoMa neighborhood, offering a fresh twist on what it means to grab a drink in the city.
What You’ll Find at Agape
Forget the usual bar menu — Agape is redefining the beverage scene with wellness-focused, alcohol alternatives designed to make you feel good, inside and out. On the menu:
- CBD-infused cocktails
- Kava
- Herbal elixirs
- Hydrogen water
- Lion’s mane mushroom blends
- Coffee with functional upgrades
I’ve tried the Kava shots, though addmittedly, they’re not much to look at. They resemble murky brown water (or an ugly Hazy IPA I had once), but it’s down the hatch. Chased with a hunk of pineapple, they taste just fine. Kava is traditional to the South Pacific, where it’s consued for its calming and euphoric properties. I found it helped my always-tight shoulder muscles feel a bit more relaxed.
The Specialty Drinks really caught my eye. The SoMa-Rita, Citrus Crush, and Greenhouse Mule are nods to traditional coctkails made with natural ingredients. And at Agape, they’re served with your choice of base: hemp-derived CBD, kava, or one of three elixirs.
The hydrogen-infused water tastes just like, well, water. Served at room temp, this isn’t an exciting one to taste, but it does offer anti-inflammatory properties with minimal side effects. Your post-workout go-to, if you will.
