(Re)Introducing Royal Winery & Vineyard: A Relaxed Wine-Lover’s Escape in Harrisburg

Share Article

If you haven’t been to Royal Winery & Vineyard yet, consider this your sign to plan a visit.

Just a mile from the highway (and right behind Costco – really!), this 60-plus-acre property feels like a country getaway — perfect for a spontaneous Saturday afternoon or a laid-back evening with friends.

A Scenic Pause Close to Home

The moment you turn down the drive, the buzz of busy Jonestown Road fades away, and in its place is the quiet of the country.

Whether you’re out for a date night, catching up with friends, or need a solo reset, the setting itself is part of the experience.

Royal Winery is a four-season, all-weather venue. While the outdoor patio — replete with rentable gazebos, fire pits, and more — is best suited for warmer, drier times of the year, there is ample indoor space throughout the property. In addition to the main tasting room, there are several indoor spaces available at all times.

A Place to Sip What You Love (Whatever You Love)

When you walk through the doors or step onto the outdoor patios at Royal Winery & Vineyard, you’re entering a space where choice is part of the joy. Their wine bar tap list rotates through wine, cider, beer, wine slushies, and non-alcoholic options.

Here’s a snapshot of their recent offerings:

  • Wines – Naturally, this is their cornerstone. From dry to sweet, white to red, sparkling to fruit blends, you’ll find a variety that suits both traditional and adventurous tastes
  • Small-Batch Craft Brews – Their “brewery” side is active, so craft and seasonal beers share space alongside their wine program – Plus, check out their rotating guest taps
  • Ciders & Wine-Cider Hybrids – Royal is proud of their cidermaking and offer sweet and dry ciders, often highlighting seasonal flavors
  • Non-Alcoholic “Dirty Sodas” – You don’t want to miss these super on-trend non-alcoholic treats with flavors like Tropical Paradise, Cotton Candy, Shirley Temple, and Boot Scootin Root Beer

In short: whether you’re all in on wine, curious about local craft beer, or just want something fun and alcohol-free, there’s a beverage calling your name at Royal Winery.

Food Trucks, Live Music, Seasonal Vibes

A big part of the Royal experience is the themed weekend events. Coming up in October, you won’t want to miss the Hallo-Wine Weekend on Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1. Expect live music, costume contests, food trucks, and plenty of wine, cider, beer, and slushies!

Royal also features other seasonally exciting events like the upcoming Pick & Pour: A Pumpkin Patch Experience on Sunday, Oct. 26. This ticketed event includes pumpkin picking, carving, painting, and a decorating contest.

Stay tuned for Fall Fest, slated for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15-16. It’s sure to be a full celebration of the season (are you a pumpkin spice or an apple?) with great food trucks, live music, local vendors, seasonal specials, and more.

Follow Royal Winery on Facebook to keep up to date with their events.

Whether it’s a special event or not, you can always find live music and local food trucks at Royal Winery.

Don’t Miss These Specials

  • Happy Hour: 5-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12-2 p.m. Sunday, get $2 off glasses of wine and draft beer
  • Sunday Music Bingo: every Sunday 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Why You’ll Love It

Royal Winery isn’t just about the wine (though you’re sure to find something you like!). It’s a gathering space for groups of all sizes, offering a full experience to relax and enjoy, just outside the city of Harrisburg.

Plan your next visit at royalwineryandvineyard.com — and tell me what you tried first. I’ll raise a glass to that.
