If you’ve never been to BAPS Motor Speedway, this is your summer.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: this is one of the most unexpectedly fun nights out in our region. It’s loud, it’s fast, it’s a little gritty in the best way, and it’s way more approachable than you may think.
This season, BAPS is making it easier (and more fun) than ever to show up.
Here are the three events worth circling right now:
$5 Keystone Nationals at BAPS | Sunday, June 7

Let’s start with the one that’s getting serious buzz.
A full night of racing… for $5.
No catch.
The $5 Keystone Nationals is bringing 410 Sprint Cars and Extreme Stocks to the track for less than the cost of your morning coffee — something we haven’t seen around here in decades.
This is one of those “just go” events. Bring your friends, bring your kids, bring the people who always say they’ve never been to a race. This is exactly who it’s for.
Even drivers are calling this one out as a big moment for the sport:
“It’s huge. It’s the future of our sport… the more newer fans we can bring in, the better for everyone.” — Tyler Ross
“New fans are needed for the survival of the sport we all love.” — Chad Trout
“Getting folks physically to the track can make an incredible difference.” — Chase Dietz
You get the idea. This is a push to bring new energy into the stands.
Pro tip: Buy your tickets online. You’ll get into the grandstands two hours early, which means more time to explore, grab food, and settle in before the racing starts.
PA Speedweek at BAPS | Sunday, June 28

If you want to see Central PA racing culture at its peak, this is it.
PA Speedweek is a summer sprint car tradition — and when it hits BAPS, you’re getting some of the best drivers in the region going all out.
On the lineup:
- 410 Sprint Cars (the PA Posse)
- Super Sportsman
This one feels a little more “insider,” but don’t let that scare you off. Even if you don’t know every name, you’ll feel the energy immediately (plus, you’ll learn quickly).
It’s fast, competitive, and the crowd shows up for it.
Again, get those tickets online in advance, and you’ll score grandstand access one hour before showtime.
World of Outlaws at BAPS (Bricker’s French Fries Bash) | Tuesday, July 29

This is the big one.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars are coming to York Haven — and if you’re even a little curious about racing, this is the night to go.
After a 31-year hiatus, World of Outlaws returned to BAPS Motor Speedway in 2023. Since then, it has solidified its place where you can see the Pennsylvania Posse (yep, them again!) takes on the World of Outlaws. It’s a 30-lap race, and the winner takes home $12,000!
This is more than local talent, it’s a national-level competition, and it brings a whole different level of intensity to the track.
Expect:
- Packed stands
- Top-tier drivers
- One of the most exciting race nights of the season
