The New Cumberland Music + Film Fest returns Sept. 17-19 with independent films, live performances, after-parties and a 30th anniversary screening of Matilda – all happening within a few walkable blocks of downtown New Cumberland.

For something new: Cigar Night in Coronet Park tonight

Worth noting: Labor Day weekend = Kipona! Not one but two options for 90s/2000s themed parties (Friday at @abbeybarofficial ; Saturday at @capitalcitymusichall )

If a bunch of people dance in a park and no music is playing, does Harrisburg know how much fun they’re having? 🎧

We hosted our first Silent Disco at Coronet Park last month.

It started somewhat slowly. I spent the beginning doing what I always do at my events: watching the crowd, answering questions, and trying to Jedi mind trick you off your couch.

And then the park filled up.

The energy shifted. The dance floor came alive. Someone yelled, “Jamiroquai!” — and that was all it took.

I wrote about what happened next, why I kept my headphones on for the rest of the night, and the one thing YOU need to do if we want more genuinely cool experiences like this downtown.
